Which companies sponsor visas for entry level roles in Florida?
Technology and healthcare employers are among the more active sponsors for entry level positions in Florida. Companies like Chewy (headquartered in Dania Beach), Citrix, AdventHealth, and HCA Healthcare have documented histories of sponsoring work visas for early-career hires. Larger financial services firms in Miami and Tampa also sponsor entry level analysts. Sponsorship is never guaranteed and varies by role, team, and hiring cycle.
What visa types are most common for entry level jobs in Florida?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for entry level specialty occupation roles in Florida, particularly in software engineering, data analysis, and finance. International students already in Florida often work on OPT or STEM OPT before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship. Some entry level roles in specific fields may also see TN visa use for Canadian and Mexican nationals, or E-3 visa sponsorship for Australian citizens.
Which cities in Florida have the most entry level visa sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads for entry level sponsorship in finance, international trade, and tech startups, with a large multinational employer base. Orlando is strong for hospitality technology, simulation, and defense contractors like Lockheed Martin. Tampa has growing concentrations in cybersecurity, healthcare IT, and financial services. Jacksonville also has entry level opportunities in banking and logistics, though at lower volume than the three larger metros.
How to find entry level visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters for visa sponsorship directly, making it easier to identify entry level roles in Florida without sorting through listings that don't sponsor. You can filter by state and experience level to surface relevant openings in Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and beyond. Focusing your search on employers with documented sponsorship histories in Florida significantly improves your odds of finding a viable opportunity.
Are there any Florida-specific factors that affect entry level visa sponsorship?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since take-home pay differs from states like California or New York at similar gross salaries. The state's large public university system, including the University of Florida and Florida State University, creates strong OPT pipelines that many Florida employers are familiar with. Florida's concentration of international business, particularly in Miami, also means many employers there have prior experience navigating visa sponsorship for early-career hires.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored entry level jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
