Which companies sponsor visas for entry level roles in Texas?
Large employers with established immigration programs are the most consistent sponsors for entry level roles in Texas. Companies like Dell Technologies and NXP Semiconductors in Austin, Texas Instruments and AT&T in Dallas, and ExxonMobil and Shell in Houston have track records of H-1B visa filings for early-career positions. Consulting firms such as Deloitte and Accenture, which maintain major Texas offices, also sponsor entry level hires in technology and finance.
Which visa types are most common for entry level jobs in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for entry level specialty occupation roles in Texas, particularly in engineering, software development, and finance. F-1 graduates with OPT or STEM OPT authorization often work in Texas before employer-sponsored status begins. The TN visa is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional occupations. Entry level roles must still meet specialty occupation standards regardless of seniority.
How to find entry level visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by state and experience level to surface entry level roles in Texas where employers are actively open to visa sponsorship. This is more targeted than a general job search because listings are curated for internationally sponsored hiring. Roles span Austin's tech sector, Dallas finance and consulting firms, and Houston's energy and engineering industry.
Which cities in Texas have the most entry level sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads for entry level technology and software roles, driven by the presence of Dell, Apple, Google, and a dense cluster of startups. Dallas-Fort Worth is strong for finance, consulting, and telecommunications. Houston concentrates entry level opportunities in energy, petrochemical engineering, and healthcare. San Antonio has growing cybersecurity hiring tied to military and federal contractors. Each city has a distinct industry profile worth targeting based on your field.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for entry level visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since employers still file Labor Condition Applications based on Department of Labor wage data for each metro area. University pipelines from UT Austin, Texas A&M, and Rice University feed directly into local sponsoring employers, meaning on-campus recruiting at those schools is a meaningful channel. Entry level positions in regulated industries like energy and finance may require additional licensing regardless of visa category.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored entry level jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
