Which companies sponsor visas for nursing assistants in Florida?
Large hospital systems with a consistent Florida presence, including HCA Healthcare, AdventHealth, BayCare Health System, and Memorial Healthcare System, have histories of sponsoring international healthcare workers. Long-term care operators and skilled nursing facility chains also sponsor nursing assistants, particularly in regions with persistent staffing shortages. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and varies by facility, role availability, and workforce needs at the time of hiring.
Which visa types are most common for nursing assistant roles in Florida?
The H-1B visa is generally not available for nursing assistant roles because the position typically does not meet the specialty occupation requirement of a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Internationally trained nursing assistants more commonly pursue employment-based green card pathways, such as the EB-3 visa, which covers skilled and unskilled workers. Some candidates also enter through J-1 exchange visitor programs at participating healthcare institutions.
Which cities in Florida have the most nursing assistant sponsorship jobs?
Orlando, Tampa, Miami, and Jacksonville account for the largest share of healthcare employment in Florida and tend to have the most nursing assistant openings overall, including sponsored positions. The Orlando metro area in particular has seen significant hospital expansion. Smaller markets like Fort Lauderdale, St. Petersburg, and Gainesville also have active healthcare employers, with Gainesville home to UF Health, a major academic medical center.
How to find nursing assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for visa sponsorship roles in the United States. You can filter by state and job category to surface nursing assistant positions in Florida where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. Because sponsorship availability changes frequently, checking Migrate Mate regularly and setting up alerts for Florida nursing assistant roles gives you the most current picture of what is available.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for nursing assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Florida requires nursing assistants to hold a valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential, which means international candidates must meet state Board of Nursing requirements, including passing the Florida CNA competency exam, before or shortly after beginning work. Employers initiating EB-3 sponsorship must also comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements specific to the Florida county where the job is located, which can affect how quickly an employer moves forward with sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nursing assistant jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
