Which companies in Florida sponsor visas for occupational therapists?
Large hospital networks are the most consistent sponsors. AdventHealth, HCA Florida Healthcare, Baptist Health South Florida, and BayCare Health System have established H-1B and EB-3 sponsorship infrastructure. Skilled nursing chains operating across Florida, including Consulate Health Care and Encompass Health, also sponsor OTs, particularly for hard-to-fill rural and suburban facility positions.
Which visa types are most common for occupational therapists in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa for OTs in Florida, as occupational therapy qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. The EB-3 immigrant visa is widely used for permanent sponsorship, particularly by long-term care facilities. Some employers also sponsor EB-2 petitions for OTs with graduate-level credentials and specialized clinical experience.
Which cities in Florida have the most occupational therapist sponsorship jobs?
Orlando and Tampa are the strongest markets, driven by large hospital campuses and a growing population of older residents requiring rehabilitation services. Miami and Fort Lauderdale add significant volume through South Florida's dense hospital network. Jacksonville and West Palm Beach also see regular OT sponsorship activity, particularly across outpatient clinics and post-acute care facilities affiliated with regional health systems.
How to find ot visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles offering visa sponsorship, so you can browse OT positions in Florida without sorting through employers who won't sponsor. The platform surfaces roles from hospital networks, outpatient clinics, and long-term care facilities across the state. Filtering by Florida and occupational therapy on Migrate Mate gives you a focused list of employers actively open to sponsoring international candidates.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for occupational therapists seeking visa sponsorship?
Florida requires OTs to hold a state license from the Florida Department of Health before practicing, and sponsoring employers typically expect candidates to have passed the NBCOT exam. Florida's large retiree population creates concentrated demand in geriatric and home health settings, which can strengthen sponsorship cases for experienced OTs. University programs at the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern University also create regional pipelines that some health systems draw from when recruiting internationally trained clinicians.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ot jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
