JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures staff is trained and competent before assignment to a particular position.
- Keeps documentation of employee's performance to use during evaluation and counseling.
- Enforces disciplinary actions and provides accurate and complete documentation.
- Monitors job tasks and offers suggestions to improve efficiency.
- Works with employees in order to increase their level of productivity.
- Keeps track of employees' attendance and punctuality.
- Follows up on any problems related to security, safety and/or sanitation.
- Is competent in scheduling of employees based on census, minimizes overtime, and informs subordinate when adjustments are made to posted schedules.
- Always starts the patient trayline on time.
- Quality of food is checked for taste, temperature and portion size.
- Ensures that cleaning procedures are followed.
- Enforces proper dress code and proper use of gloves, aprons, and hair restraints. Enforces appropriate food handling procedures to ensure food safety.
- Monitors accuracy of patient trays and floor stock supply delivery.
- Monitors refrigerators/freezers for proper food storage (wrapping, labeling, dating).
- Reports safety hazards and defective equipment immediately.
- Maintains accurate and complete documentation of temperature logs, floor stock supply, and other reports.

Experience
- 3 - 4 years of hospital food service experience preferred
