Which companies sponsor visas for physician assistants in Florida?
Large health systems are the most consistent sponsors for physician assistant roles in Florida. AdventHealth, HCA Florida Healthcare, Baptist Health South Florida, and Orlando Health have each filed H-1B visa petitions for PAs in recent years. Academic medical centers such as the University of Florida Health and Jackson Health System also sponsor international candidates, particularly for hospital medicine and specialty practice positions.
Which visa types are most common for physician assistant roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa for physician assistants in Florida. PA roles generally qualify as specialty occupations because the position requires at least a master's degree from an accredited program. Some international PAs also work under TN visa status if they are Canadian or Mexican nationals, as physician assistant is listed as a qualifying TN occupation under USMCA.
Which cities in Florida have the most physician assistant sponsorship jobs?
Miami, Orlando, and Tampa account for the largest share of physician assistant sponsorship activity in Florida. Miami benefits from a dense concentration of hospital systems and specialty clinics. Orlando's medical corridor, anchored by AdventHealth and Orlando Health, drives consistent PA hiring. Tampa's growing medical district, including Tampa General Hospital and BayCare Health, also generates meaningful sponsorship opportunities for international candidates.
How to find physician assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find physician assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Florida. The platform filters job listings specifically to employers who sponsor work visas, so you're not sorting through postings from employers who won't consider international candidates. You can filter by Florida and by PA roles to surface relevant openings at health systems and specialty practices across the state.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for physician assistants seeking visa sponsorship?
Florida requires physician assistants to hold an active Florida PA license, which means international candidates must have their credentials verified and pass U.S. licensure requirements before starting work. Employers initiating H-1B sponsorship must also file a Labor Condition Application certifying that the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the role and location. Florida's large and growing senior population has increased PA demand in cardiology, oncology, and geriatric specialties, which are active hiring areas for sponsored roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored physician assistant jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
