Which companies sponsor visas for support engineers in Florida?
Florida-based companies with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for support engineering roles include Chewy (headquartered in Dania Beach), Citrix Systems in Fort Lauderdale, and Ultimate Software in Weston. Large financial technology firms in Miami and healthcare IT companies in Tampa and Jacksonville also appear regularly in Department of Labor LCA filings for support engineer positions.
Which visa types are most common for support engineer roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for support engineers in Florida, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and a separate annual allocation.
Which cities in Florida have the most support engineer sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads in support engineer sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of fintech, SaaS, and Latin American regional headquarters. Tampa follows closely, with a growing cybersecurity and managed services sector. Fort Lauderdale and Orlando also generate steady demand, particularly from enterprise software companies and defense and simulation technology contractors with large technical support operations.
How to find support engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find support engineer roles in Florida without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can filter by state and job title to surface active openings from Florida employers who have a track record of sponsoring international candidates for support engineering positions.
Are there any Florida-specific factors that affect support engineer visa sponsorship?
Florida's lack of a state income tax is sometimes a factor in compensation structuring, which affects how employers document prevailing wage compliance for LCA filings. The state's large university system, including the University of Florida and Florida International University, generates a consistent pipeline of international graduates on OPT, which means many Florida employers already have established processes for transitioning support engineers from F-1 status to H-1B sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored support engineer jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
