This role involves vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance and repair, completing work orders, providing emergency roadside service, and welding and burning. What You’ll Do
- Perform diagnostics and necessary repairs on vehicles and equipment, including engines, transmissions, differentials, brake systems, and HVAC systems
- Conduct preventive maintenance such as oil changes, spark plug and brake pad replacements, and tire rotations
- Respond to emergency roadside assistance calls for disabled vehicles
- Install, inspect, and repair electrical components
- Fabricate and replace hydraulic hoses; perform welding and burning tasks
- Repair damaged metal parts using welding equipment; grind or chip off excess weld or slag
- Test-drive vehicles to diagnose issues and confirm proper functioning after repairs
- Document maintenance and repairs, time taken, and parts used on work orders
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform upkeep on shop equipment
What We Need from You
- High school diploma, GED, and at least one year of vocational training in automotive mechanics or a related field
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Valid Class A or B CDL is required, with the ability to meet minimum driving standards
- 2+ years of relevant experience repairing vehicles and maintaining heavy equipment like tractors, brush hogs, and pump trucks
- Skilled at reading and implementing directions, conducting routine calculations, and resolving simple issues
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and environments with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and other hazards
- Frequent standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing required; ability to lift 50+ lbs and exert heavier force as needed
- Availability for overtime and non-standard hours
