Which companies sponsor visas for nurses in Georgia?
Emory Healthcare, Wellstar Health System, Piedmont Healthcare, Grady Health System, and Northside Hospital are among the largest nursing employers in Georgia with documented H-1B and EB-3 sponsorship activity. Large hospital networks and academic medical centers are generally more likely to sponsor than smaller community clinics, as they have dedicated HR and legal infrastructure to manage the sponsorship process.
Which visa types are most common for nursing roles in Georgia?
Most internationally trained nurses working in Georgia come through the EB-3 immigrant visa category, which requires NCLEX passage, a full-time job offer, and an approved PERM labor certification. The H-1B is less common for bedside nursing because most RN roles do not consistently meet the specialty occupation standard. Some nurses also enter on TN visas if they hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship and meet the qualifying degree criteria.
Which cities in Georgia have the most nursing sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta and its surrounding metro counties, including Marietta, Sandy Springs, and Alpharetta, account for the largest share of nursing sponsorship opportunities in Georgia. Augusta, home to Wellstar MCG Health and Augusta University Health, is the second-largest hub, followed by Savannah, which has seen healthcare expansion driven by population growth along the coast.
How to find nursing visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles in the United States. For nursing jobs in Georgia, you can filter by state and role to see active listings from employers with sponsorship history. Because not every job posting explicitly states sponsorship availability, Migrate Mate surfaces employers with documented sponsorship activity, which saves significant research time for internationally trained nurses.
Are there state-specific factors that affect nursing visa sponsorship in Georgia?
Georgia requires internationally educated nurses to have their credentials evaluated through an approved body such as CGFNS before sitting the NCLEX, which is a prerequisite most sponsoring employers expect to be completed before an offer is extended. Georgia's large academic medical center network, including Emory and Augusta University, also creates pathways through clinical training affiliations that sometimes convert to sponsored employment for qualified international candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nursing jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
