Job Description
Responsible for the direction and supervision of Nursing Services throughout the hospital on evening, night, and weekend shifts.
Duties which you perform that are fundamental to the job:
- Oversees, directs and guides the organization towards achieving current & future goals.
- Ensures that all organizational activities and operations comply with local, state and federal regulations, JCAHO standards and laws governing healthcare operations.
- Demonstrates leadership effectiveness in managing interpersonal relationships and managing self.
- Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and departmental goals and objectives.
- Supervises nursing services on all off shifts, including evening, nights, and weekends.
- Encourages professional growth and development of self and nursing staff. Establishes a climate conducive to meet these needs.
- Exhibits age specific competency when dealing with patients of all age groups.
- Exhibits age specific competency when dealing with patients in the Neonate/Infant (0 – 1).
- Exhibits age specific competency when dealing with patients in the Toddler age group (1-3).
- Exhibits age specific competency when dealing with patients in the Preschooler age group (4 – 6).
- Exhibits age specific competency when dealing with patients in the School Age/ Adolescent age groups (7-18).
- Exhibits age specific competency when dealing with patients in the Adult age groups (19 – 65).
- Exhibits age specific competency when dealing with patients in the Geriatric age group (65 & older).
- Provides care with consideration for the cultural needs of the patient.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- BSN required
- RN/NJ License
- ACLS and BLS certificates
- With 2-3 years management supervisory experience in a hospital setting required
Hours: Flexible hours including weekends and holidays
