Which companies sponsor visas for software quality assurance roles in Georgia?
Georgia-based employers with documented H-1B sponsorship activity for software quality assurance roles include NCR Voyix, Global Payments, Cox Enterprises, Fiserv's Atlanta operations, and Delta Air Lines' technology division. Large consulting firms with Georgia offices, including Infosys, Wipro, and Cognizant, also regularly sponsor QA engineers. Sponsorship history can vary year to year, so verifying current hiring activity is worthwhile before applying.
Which visa types are most common for software quality assurance roles in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for software quality assurance professionals in Georgia, as QA engineer and test automation roles generally qualify as specialty occupations requiring a related bachelor's degree or higher. Some candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT also work in Georgia QA roles before an employer files an H-1B petition. The O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrated exceptional ability, though it's far less common in this field.
Which cities in Georgia have the most software quality assurance sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the large majority of software quality assurance sponsorship activity in Georgia, particularly in the Midtown, Buckhead, and Alpharetta technology corridors. Alpharetta has emerged as a notable suburban hub with a concentration of fintech and enterprise software companies that employ QA teams. Smaller pockets of tech hiring exist in Savannah and Columbus, but sponsorship opportunities there are far more limited compared to the Atlanta metro area.
How to find software quality assurance visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate is specifically built for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and lets you filter software quality assurance jobs by Georgia location, surfacing employers with active sponsorship intent. Because QA roles span fintech, logistics, healthcare IT, and enterprise software in Georgia, using a platform that filters by sponsorship status saves significant time. Migrate Mate also provides visa-relevant context alongside job listings, which general job boards do not offer.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for software quality assurance visa sponsorship?
Georgia's fintech concentration around Atlanta means QA roles frequently require domain knowledge in payments, banking compliance, or transaction processing, which can strengthen an H-1B petition by demonstrating the specialized nature of the position. Georgia Tech's large computer science and engineering pipeline creates local competition, so international candidates benefit from highlighting automation skills, testing frameworks like Selenium or Cypress, and relevant industry certifications. Prevailing wage determinations for Georgia QA roles are based on the Atlanta or relevant metro area wage data filed with the Department of Labor.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software quality assurance jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
