Which accounting companies sponsor E-3 visas in Hawaii?
The Big Four firms, Deloitte, PwC, Ernst & Young, and KPMG, have Honolulu offices with documented E-3 and H-1B visa sponsorship histories. Regional firms serving Hawaii's hospitality, real estate, and government contracting sectors also sponsor accounting professionals, though less frequently. Checking DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data gives the clearest picture of which specific employers have filed for accounting roles.
Which cities in Hawaii have the most accounting E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Honolulu accounts for the overwhelming majority of accounting E-3 sponsorship activity in Hawaii. The city hosts the state's largest corporate offices, financial institutions, and public accounting firms. Hilo and Maui have smaller accounting markets tied primarily to local government and hospitality businesses, but their sponsorship activity for E-3 visa holders is significantly more limited than Honolulu.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Hawaii?
Roles that consistently meet the E-3 specialty occupation standard include staff accountant, senior auditor, tax associate, financial analyst, and management accountant positions requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. General bookkeeping or clerical finance roles that don't require a specific bachelor's degree typically don't qualify. CPA licensure is not required for E-3 eligibility, though employers often prefer it for senior roles.
How do I find accounting E-3 sponsorship jobs in Hawaii?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for accounting roles with verified E-3 sponsorship history in Hawaii, using DOL Labor Condition Application data to surface employers who have actively filed for these positions. This is more reliable than general job boards because it's based on actual federal filing records rather than self-reported employer badges. From there, you can target your applications toward firms with a documented track record of E-3 sponsorship in Hawaii's accounting sector.
Are there any Hawaii-specific considerations for accounting E-3 sponsorship?
Hawaii's high cost of living affects prevailing wage benchmarks set by DOL, which employers must meet or exceed in the Labor Condition Application. Accounting professionals should verify the applicable prevailing wage for their specific role and county using the OFLC Wage Search before accepting an offer. Hawaii's dominant industries, tourism, military contracting, and real estate, also shape the types of accounting specializations most in demand, particularly fund accounting, cost accounting, and government auditing.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 accounting jobs in Hawaii?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
