Which accounting companies sponsor E-3 visas in Utah?
The Big Four firms, Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, and EY, maintain Salt Lake City offices with established E-3 sponsorship histories. Regional firms such as Eide Bailly and Tanner LLC also hire internationally. Utah's expanding fintech and tech sector has driven demand at companies like Goldman Sachs, which operates a significant Salt Lake City office, and several regional banks that require credentialed accounting professionals.
Which cities in Utah have the most accounting E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the large majority of accounting E-3 sponsorship activity in Utah, hosting regional headquarters for national audit, tax, and advisory firms. Provo and Lehi, at the heart of the Silicon Slopes tech corridor, offer secondary opportunities at technology companies with in-house accounting and finance teams. Ogden has a smaller but active government contracting and manufacturing sector with occasional accounting openings.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a directly related field generally qualify as specialty occupations under the E-3 category. Positions that commonly meet this standard include public accountant, external auditor, tax associate, financial analyst, internal auditor, and forensic accountant. General bookkeeping or data-entry roles that do not require a relevant degree are unlikely to qualify. A CPA credential strengthens the specialty occupation argument considerably.
How do I find accounting E-3 sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings specifically by E-3 visa type and industry, so you can view accounting roles in Utah where employers have verified sponsorship history rather than applying broadly and asking later. Because E-3 sponsorship requires employers to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, Migrate Mate surfaces that filing data, giving you a clearer signal of which Utah accounting employers actively support international hires.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for accounting E-3 sponsorship?
Utah does not impose state-level licensing requirements that block E-3 eligibility, but CPA licensure through the Utah Board of Accountancy requires passing the Uniform CPA Examination and meeting education and experience thresholds. Australian accounting qualifications may partially satisfy education requirements, but credential evaluation through a NASBA-approved body is typically needed. Employers in Utah's growing Silicon Slopes corridor may also request Big Four or public accounting experience when sponsoring senior roles.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 accounting jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
