Which companies sponsor visas for hospitalists in Idaho?
The largest sponsors of hospitalist visas in Idaho include St. Luke's Health System, Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (part of Trinity Health), and Kootenai Health. Regional critical access hospitals and physician staffing groups that contract with these systems also sponsor international hospitalists. These organizations have established relationships with immigration counsel and a documented history of H-1B and J-1 filings for clinical roles.
Which visa types are most common for hospitalist roles in Idaho?
The H-1B is the most common visa for hospitalists in Idaho, as hospital medicine qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a medical degree. J-1 Conrad 30 waivers are a significant pathway for international medical graduates who completed residency on a J-1, allowing them to satisfy the two-year home residency requirement by working in a designated shortage area. Idaho typically allocates Conrad 30 slots annually, and hospitalist roles in underserved areas often qualify.
Which cities in Idaho have the most hospitalist sponsorship jobs?
Boise accounts for the largest share of Idaho hospitalist sponsorship activity, anchored by St. Luke's and Saint Alphonsus. Twin Falls and Idaho Falls have regional medical centers with active hospitalist programs, including St. Luke's Magic Valley and Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Coeur d'Alene in the north, served by Kootenai Health, also generates consistent hospitalist hiring. Rural areas outside these hubs frequently carry Health Professional Shortage Area designations that strengthen Conrad 30 waiver eligibility.
How to find hospitalist visa sponsorship jobs in Idaho?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find hospitalist visa sponsorship jobs in Idaho, as the platform filters specifically for roles where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor. This matters for hospitalists because not every posting on general platforms specifies immigration support. Searching Migrate Mate for hospitalist roles filtered to Idaho surfaces positions at health systems like St. Luke's and Kootenai Health that are actively recruiting international physicians.
Are there state-specific considerations for hospitalists seeking sponsorship in Idaho?
Idaho's federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas and Medically Underserved Areas cover a significant portion of the state, which has direct implications for J-1 Conrad 30 waiver applicants. Hospitalists willing to commit to practice in these areas have a clearer path through the waiver program. Idaho participates in the Conrad 30 program administered through the state Department of Health and Welfare, which coordinates with the federal waiver process for international medical graduates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored hospitalist jobs in Idaho?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
