Mixed Animal Veterinarian | Columbia, IL | Leadership Opportunity
Mueller Veterinary Services is seeking an experienced Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join our team as a full-time Chief of Staff and help lead our well-established, community-oriented practice in Columbia, Illinois.
This is an exciting opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys the variety of mixed animal medicine and is ready to take the next step into clinical leadership. Our Chief of Staff will remain actively involved in patient care while partnering with hospital leadership to support our doctors, strengthen medical standards, mentor the veterinary team, and help guide the continued growth of the practice.

Our Facility & Medicine
Mueller Veterinary Services offers a well-equipped environment for both small and large animal medicine, giving our Chief of Staff the opportunity to maintain a diverse caseload while helping shape the medical direction of the practice.
Our facility and equipment include:
- Digital radiography and portable X-ray
- Dental radiography
- Ultrasound
- Tono-Pen
- Equine PowerFloat
- Therapeutic laser
- Cryosurgery
- Haul-in facility with convenient trailer access
- Fully equipped ambulatory truck for farm calls
Our caseload is approximately 85% small animal and 15% large animal, making this a great opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys companion animal medicine while still wanting large animal work to remain a meaningful part of their practice.
ABOUT THE CHIEF OF STAFF ROLE
As Chief of Staff, you'll serve as a clinical leader and resource for our veterinary team while continuing to practice the mixed animal medicine you enjoy. You'll partner closely with hospital leadership to foster a collaborative, supportive environment and help shape the future of Mueller Veterinary Services.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Provide high-quality mixed animal medical and surgical care
- Mentor and support fellow veterinarians
- Help establish and maintain strong medical standards and best practices
- Support doctor development and continuing education
- Partner with hospital leadership on medical operations and practice growth
- Strengthen communication and teamwork across the hospital
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Prior veterinary leadership experience is preferred, but we're also excited to connect with experienced veterinarians who are ready to take the next step in their leadership career.
