Which companies sponsor visas for program analysts in Illinois?
Large consulting firms with significant Chicago presences, including Accenture, Deloitte, and Booz Allen Hamilton, are among the more consistent sponsors for program analyst roles in Illinois. Healthcare organizations such as Advocate Health Care and government contractors operating near Chicago also appear regularly in Department of Labor LCA filings for this role category.
Which visa types are most common for program analyst roles in Illinois?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for program analysts in Illinois, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as information systems, business, or computer science. Candidates already holding L-1B status through intracompany transfers or those on OPT also account for a notable share of program analyst sponsorships in the state.
Which cities in Illinois have the most program analyst sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of program analyst visa sponsorship activity in Illinois. The city's concentration of federal agencies, large consulting firms, financial institutions, and hospital systems all generate consistent demand for this role. Smaller clusters exist in suburbs such as Schaumburg and Downers Grove, where technology and insurance companies maintain regional headquarters.
How to find program analyst visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse program analyst openings in Illinois without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. Given how concentrated Illinois hiring is in Chicago's consulting and healthcare sectors, filtering by those industries on Migrate Mate helps identify employers with active sponsorship track records for this role.
Are there state-specific factors that affect program analyst sponsorship hiring in Illinois?
Illinois employers filing H-1B petitions for program analysts must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which are benchmarked to the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin metropolitan area for most positions. The University of Illinois and Northwestern University also feed a consistent pipeline of international graduates into program analyst roles, making Illinois employers relatively experienced with the sponsorship process compared to states with smaller international student populations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program analyst jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
