About the Practice
DXC Luxoft's R&D Engineering practice is transforming from an automotive-focused embedded services business into a multi-vertical engineering powerhouse. Automotive remains a core installed base and platform, but the practice is strategically expanding into healthcare technology, consumer electronics, industrial and aerospace, and other sectors whose products depend on intelligent embedded systems. The practice brings together 11,000+ specialized engineers across 29+ countries and 51 delivery sites, part of DXC's 40,000-strong Consulting & Engineering Services organization, and is built on Luxoft's 20-year digital engineering heritage (acquired by DXC in 2019).
Building on deep domain expertise in Digital Cockpit, Autonomous Drive, Connected Mobility, Systems Engineering, and Silicon Vendor enablement, our work already powers software in 50M+ vehicles worldwide, with the proprietary AMBER platform cutting vehicle software development cycles by up to 50% and infotainment costs by up to 30%. Across our focus industries we have delivered 3,000+ projects for 150+ clients. Core focus areas include Human-Machine Interface (HMI), Physical AI, connected technologies, end-to-end embedded software development, testing and validation, and digital engineering services, delivered through a partner ecosystem that includes silicon and AI-compute leaders such as NVIDIA. Our engineering credibility extends to the track: DXC develops the driver HMI for Scuderia Ferrari's next-generation vehicles.
The Role
We are looking for a Regional Head of Sales, R&D Engineering for the North America region. You will be accountable for all key front-end activities of the R&D Engineering Line of Business (LoB) in the region: sales, business development, and strategic account management. Your mandate is twofold: build the regional sales organization and drive expansion into high-growth verticals beyond automotive. The role operates in a matrix structure, reporting to the NA Sales Lead and to the Global Head of R&D Engineering, and works closely with senior leaders across service delivery, product development, and marketing.
This is a player-coach role. You will build and lead a team of individual-contributor sellers while carrying a personal quota alongside the team target. Initially you will personally drive revenue by opening new opportunities and shaping and closing deals; as the business scales, your focus will shift toward leading and developing a high-performing sales organization.
Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing sales and account management organization of individual contributors; recruit, coach, and develop the team.
- Set targets: quarterly quotas and annual goals for the team and yourself; own resource planning based on offerings and budget, and annual budget planning for the sales and account management cost center.
- Report on opportunity progress and overall sales and account management performance; provide risk assessment and reliable forecasting to regional and global leadership.
- Collaborate across DXC's regional and global organizations to increase win probability and capture synergies across multiple offering portfolios.
Direct Selling & Business Development
- Carry a personal sales quota and personally lead strategic pursuits, particularly while the team ramps.
- Acquire new customer business across the full R&D Engineering portfolio in North America, spanning automotive, healthcare technology, consumer electronics, industrial, aerospace, and other sectors with embedded software and intelligent systems needs.
- Lead the client acquisition process end to end and work closely with delivery units to drive the RFI/RFP process.
- Leverage the full suite of R&D Engineering offerings, from ADAS platforms, digital cockpit and HMI, embedded software development, systems engineering, and Physical AI to testing and validation and partnerships, to open new accounts and expand existing relationships.
Market & Portfolio Expansion
- Develop and execute the strategy for expanding R&D Engineering revenue into healthcare technology, consumer electronics, industrial and aerospace, and other embedded-software-intensive industries; own new-to-company customer acquisition in these verticals.
- Initiate and oversee partnerships with technology and channel partners that unlock new customer channels or accelerate market entry.
- Cultivate cross-functional collaboration with delivery organizations, business units, and horizontal technology practices to package integrated solutions that differentiate in market.
- Represent the practice at relevant industry events and professional associations to raise its market profile across target verticals.
Business Accountability
- Own the operational and financial metrics and overall business results of the regional front-end organization.
Skills
Must have
- Education: A degree in Computer Science / Electronics / Mechanical or Electrical plus MBA (Preferred, but not mandatory).
- 10+ years' experience in Sales/Account Management selling software services/solutions to Automotive OEM-s and TIER1-s.
- Working knowledge of modern automotive technologies such as IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment with focus on Digital Cockpit), ADAS, Autonomous Drive (AD) and Connected Mobility (CM).
- Good understanding of Automotive industry ecosystem and a strong existing contact network.
- Experience of working in multi-cultural international environment.

Which companies sponsor visas for sales executives in Illinois?
Enterprise technology and financial services firms are the most active sponsors. Companies like Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, and Morningstar have established Illinois sales teams and documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories. Large healthcare and insurance firms headquartered in Chicago, including Aon and Allstate, also sponsor sales-focused roles when candidates bring specialized industry knowledge or client relationship expertise.
Which visa types are most common for sales executive roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa for sales executives in Illinois, though the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it typically requires a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as business, marketing, or a technical discipline. The O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrated extraordinary achievement in their field. TN visa status applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business or management roles.
Which cities in Illinois have the most sales executive sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of sponsored sales executive positions in Illinois. The highest concentrations are in the Loop, River North, and the Merchandise Mart technology corridor. Naperville and Schaumburg in the western suburbs also have notable activity, particularly from technology companies with large Chicagoland offices. Smaller Illinois cities see significantly fewer sponsored roles at the executive level.
How to find sales executive visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse sales executive roles in Illinois without sorting through positions that won't support an international hire. The platform surfaces opportunities from enterprise technology, financial services, and healthcare employers across Chicagoland. Filtering by role and state helps identify which companies are actively sponsoring rather than those open only to candidates already authorized to work.
Are there any Illinois-specific considerations for sales executive visa sponsorship?
Illinois employers sponsoring H-1B workers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific metropolitan area, which in the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin metro is generally competitive with other major U.S. markets. Sales executive roles at Illinois-based companies often require demonstrating that the position is a specialty occupation, which can be more nuanced than technical roles. Candidates with industry-specific degrees or MBA credentials from Illinois programs at Northwestern or University of Chicago tend to have stronger petition profiles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales executive jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
