Search Solutions Consultant Jobs in IllinoisSolutions Consultant Jobs in Illinois: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for solutions consultants in Illinois?
Enterprise software and technology companies are the most active sponsors for solutions consultant roles in Illinois. Employers such as Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, IBM, and Cisco have Chicago offices and a documented history of H-1B filings for client-facing technical roles. Consulting firms like Accenture and Deloitte, which have large Illinois operations, also sponsor solutions consultants with the right qualifications and experience.
Which visa types are most common for solutions consultant roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa for solutions consultants in Illinois, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates with advanced degrees may also pursue the H-1B with a master's cap exemption. L-1B visas are an option for those transferring from an affiliated international office with specialized knowledge of a company's products.
Which cities in Illinois have the most solutions consultant sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of solutions consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois. The city's concentration of enterprise technology companies, financial institutions, and healthcare organizations creates consistent demand. Suburbs including Schaumburg, Downers Grove, and Lisle also host technology company offices where solutions consultant openings appear, particularly for employers with large regional campuses outside the downtown core.
How to find solutions consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters solutions consultant roles in Illinois by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not sorting through listings from employers who won't sponsor. The platform surfaces roles from enterprise tech and consulting employers that have filed H-1B petitions for similar positions. Searching by the solutions consultant category and filtering to Illinois gives you a focused view of active sponsoring employers in the state.
Are there any Illinois-specific factors that affect solutions consultant visa sponsorship?
Illinois employers sponsoring H-1B workers must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements for the Chicago metropolitan statistical area, which reflects the region's competitive technology job market. Chicago's large university ecosystem, including the University of Illinois Chicago and Northwestern, produces a strong pipeline of international graduates who pursue solutions consultant roles locally. Employers in regulated industries like financial services and healthcare may also have additional internal compliance steps before extending sponsorship offers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solutions consultant jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
