Which visa types are most common for solutions consultant roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for solutions consultants in New Jersey, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field like computer science, information systems, or business. L-1B visas are also used when a candidate is transferring from a foreign affiliate of a U.S. company. TN visas cover Canadian and Mexican nationals in certain qualifying roles.

How to find solutions consultant visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search solutions consultant roles in New Jersey without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform surfaces openings from employers that have sponsored similar roles before, which is particularly useful given how inconsistently sponsorship is disclosed in standard job postings. Filtering by state lets you focus on New Jersey's Route 1 and Newark-area employers directly.
Are there state-specific considerations for solutions consultant sponsorship in New Jersey?
New Jersey employers filing H-1B petitions must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the solutions consultant role in the specific metropolitan area, which differs between the Newark metro and more suburban counties. New Jersey also has a strong university pipeline, with Rutgers and NJIT producing graduates who enter solutions consulting on OPT before seeking sponsorship. Employers in regulated industries like pharma and financial services may have additional internal compliance steps before approving sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solutions consultant jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
