Job Overview
The Senior Solution Consulting Manager leads a team of talented, high‑impact Solution Consultants responsible for driving technical wins across complex B2B sales cycles. This role owns the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of pre‑sales execution and ensures Solution Consulting functions as a force multiplier for Sales. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who has run pre‑sales motions at scale, coached senior talent, and partnered closely with Sales, Product, and Channel leaders to close enterprise‑level deals.
The Senior Solution Consulting Manager owns the performance, readiness, and impact of the Solution Consulting (SC) organization in support of revenue growth. This leader is accountable for pre‑sales execution, technical win‑rate, demo quality, and cross‑functional alignment across Direct Sales, Channel Sales, Product, Product Marketing and Customer Experience teams.
This role is not a people‑only manager. It is an operating leader who sets standards, coaches for outcomes, and ensures Solution Consulting is a competitive advantage in every deal. The Senior Manager will work cross‑functionally, engaging in enterprise‑level initiatives and ensuring consistent, high‑impact solutions where Solutions Consulting is recognized and leveraged as a strategic differentiator—not just a sales support function.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and mentor a talented team of Solutions Consultants, providing coaching, technical guidance, and career development.
- Own the demo strategy and operating standards of the SC team, ensuring all demos are high‑quality, customized demonstrations and presentations that showcase AvidXchange solutions.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Product Marketing, and Onboarding teams to improve team expertise, technical knowledge, and industry insights.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on product roadmap, current and future capabilities, and customer feedback.
- Partner with Sales, Channel Sales, and Account Management leadership to align pre‑sales strategy and resources to revenue priorities.
- Monitor and communicate product changes, enhancements, and announcements to ensure the SC team is updated and current.
- Directly manage and develop the team and drive performance management with clear expectations for technical / product mastery, employing consultative selling skills, and gathering regular feedback from stakeholders.
- Represent AvidXchange at industry events, webinars and in executive‑level discussions with partners and customers.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in sales, solutions consulting, or sales engineering in a business‑to‑business environment.
- 5+ years of experience with financial application packages and a deep understanding of accounting principles.
- Proven success in leading teams and driving revenue growth through strategic solutions.
- Strong record of achievement in technical solution expertise and enterprise‑level deal support.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience; advanced certifications in product, industry, or engineering are a plus.
- Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging with senior leadership and executives.
- Experience working with Mid‑Market or Enterprise‑level customers, successfully achieving quota and driving business impact.
- Six Sigma, Greenbelt/Blackbelt, or other process improvement training a plus.

Which companies sponsor visas for solutions consultants in North Carolina?
Technology companies with significant North Carolina footprints are the most active sponsors for solutions consultant roles. SAS Institute, headquartered in Cary, Red Hat in Durham, and Cisco's Research Triangle presence have all filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications for consulting and pre-sales positions. Larger enterprise software vendors and cloud infrastructure companies operating out of the RTP corridor and Charlotte also regularly sponsor international candidates for these roles.
Which visa types are most common for solutions consultant roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for solutions consultants in North Carolina, given that the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already holding L-1B visas through intracompany transfers are another common group. Some candidates from Australia, Canada, or Mexico may also qualify under the E-3 visa or TN visa categories depending on their nationality and employer.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most solutions consultant sponsorship jobs?
The Research Triangle area, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, is by far the most active market for solutions consultant roles with visa sponsorship, due to the concentration of tech companies and proximity to major research universities. Charlotte is the second-largest market, particularly for enterprise software firms serving the financial services industry. Smaller clusters exist in Greensboro and the Triad region, though sponsorship opportunities there are more limited.
How to find solutions consultant visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles that offer visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search for solutions consultant positions in North Carolina without sorting through employers unlikely to sponsor. The platform focuses on international candidates, so listings are curated with work authorization in mind. Concentrating your search on the Research Triangle and Charlotte markets on Migrate Mate will surface the highest volume of relevant opportunities.
Are there any state-specific considerations for solutions consultants seeking sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina's strong university pipeline from NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and Duke University means employers in the region are experienced with OPT and STEM OPT candidates, which can make initial entry into the market more accessible for recent graduates. The Research Triangle Park designation also attracts multinational companies with established immigration processes. Solutions consultants should confirm that their specific job duties align with specialty occupation requirements before pursuing H-1B sponsorship, as pre-sales and advisory roles can vary in how they are classified.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solutions consultant jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
