Which agriculture companies sponsor TN visas in Illinois?
Illinois is home to several major agribusiness employers with TN sponsorship history, including Archer Daniels Midland (headquartered in Chicago), Bunge North America, and GROWMARK, a cooperative based in Bloomington. Food processing companies such as Kraft Heinz and Caterpillar's agricultural equipment division also operate in Illinois and have sponsored TN professionals in technical and scientific roles.
Which cities in Illinois have the most agriculture TN sponsorship jobs?
Chicago and its northwest suburbs, particularly Downers Grove and Naperville, concentrate agribusiness corporate headquarters where TN roles in agronomy, food science, and agricultural engineering appear most frequently. Bloomington-Normal and Decatur are strong secondary markets, anchored by GROWMARK and Archer Daniels Midland's processing operations. Champaign-Urbana also generates TN-eligible roles tied to agricultural research and university-affiliated industry partnerships.
What types of agriculture roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship in Illinois?
TN visa eligibility in agriculture is limited to specific professional categories. Roles that commonly qualify include agronomists with a degree in agronomy or soil science, agricultural engineers, food technologists, and animal scientists. Scientific research positions at agricultural companies or university extension programs in Illinois also fit within TN-eligible categories. General farm labor, operations management, and sales roles typically do not qualify without a directly related professional degree.
How do I find agriculture TN sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find agriculture TN sponsorship jobs in Illinois, since the platform filters specifically for TN-eligible roles with employers who have sponsored Canadian or Mexican professionals before. Searching by Illinois and filtering for agriculture surfaces positions in agronomy, food science, and agricultural engineering at companies concentrated in Chicago, Decatur, and Bloomington, where Illinois agribusiness activity is densest.
Are there any Illinois-specific considerations for agriculture TN sponsorship?
Illinois is a significant agricultural research state, with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign driving industry partnerships that sometimes generate TN-eligible professional positions. However, many field-level agriculture jobs in Illinois, particularly in corn and soybean farming, fall outside TN-eligible categories. Professionals are more likely to find qualifying roles at agribusiness corporations or food processing companies than at individual farm operations.
