Which electronics companies sponsor visas in Indiana?
Major electronics visa sponsors in Indiana include Cummins (engine electronics), Rolls-Royce (aerospace systems), Raytheon (defense electronics), and Allison Transmission (automotive electronics). Medical device companies like Cook Medical and Zimmer Biomet also sponsor electronics engineers. Many of these companies regularly file H-1B petitions for electrical engineers, embedded systems developers, and hardware design roles.

Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for electronics positions in Indiana that offer visa sponsorship. Filter by cities like Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Columbus to find opportunities with established sponsors. Focus on roles at defense contractors, automotive electronics suppliers, and medical device manufacturers, as these sectors have consistent H-1B filing patterns in Indiana.
Which visa types are most common for electronics roles in Indiana?
H-1B visas dominate electronics sponsorship in Indiana, particularly for electrical engineers, embedded software developers, and hardware design engineers. Some defense contractors also sponsor L-1 visas for intracompany transfers. O-1 visas are rare but possible for senior engineers with specialized expertise in automotive electronics or medical device development.

Fort Wayne has defense electronics contractors and automotive suppliers. Evansville offers medical device electronics roles. West Lafayette benefits from Purdue University partnerships, creating opportunities at research-focused electronics companies.
What prevailing wage considerations apply to electronics jobs in Indiana?
Indiana's lower cost of living results in prevailing wages typically 15-25% below coastal markets for electronics roles. Level 1 electrical engineers often start around the H-1B minimum wage threshold, while Level 3-4 senior positions offer more comfortable margins. Defense contractors and medical device companies generally offer higher prevailing wages than automotive suppliers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored electronics jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
