Which manufacturing companies in Indiana sponsor F-1 CPT visas?
Indiana manufacturers with established university partnerships and internship programs include Cummins, Eli Lilly, Subaru of Indiana Automotive, ArcelorMittal, and Rolls-Royce. These companies regularly hire engineering, supply chain, and operations interns through structured CPT arrangements. CPT eligibility depends on your school's authorization and the role meeting your degree program's curricular requirements, not the employer's formal sponsorship status.
Which cities in Indiana have the most manufacturing F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis concentrates pharmaceutical and advanced manufacturing employers, making it the top city for CPT placements. Columbus is a hub for Cummins engine and power systems operations. Lafayette hosts Subaru of Indiana Automotive and a strong automotive supply chain. Fort Wayne and Gary support steel, metals, and heavy industrial roles. Proximity to Purdue University and Indiana University also shapes where CPT opportunities cluster.
What types of manufacturing roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship in Indiana?
Roles with direct ties to an engineering, supply chain, operations management, or manufacturing technology degree program typically qualify. Common CPT-eligible positions include process engineering intern, quality assurance analyst, industrial engineering co-op, manufacturing operations associate, and supply chain planning intern. The role must be an integral part of your curriculum, and your Designated School Official must authorize CPT before work begins.
How do I find manufacturing F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters manufacturing jobs in Indiana by visa type, including F-1 CPT. Rather than sorting through listings that don't address work authorization, Migrate Mate surfaces roles from employers that accommodate CPT students. You can search by city, industry, and visa category to find placements in Indianapolis, Lafayette, Columbus, and other Indiana manufacturing centers.
Are there state-specific considerations for F-1 CPT in Indiana's manufacturing sector?
Indiana's manufacturing environment is heavily tied to automotive and pharmaceutical production, both of which operate on structured internship and co-op cycles aligned with academic calendars. Many large employers work directly with Purdue University, Rose-Hulman, and Indiana University on co-op programs, which can simplify the CPT coordination process. Students should confirm their specific program's CPT policy with their DSO well before an offer deadline, as authorization timelines vary by school.
