SCOPE OF WORK
The IT Desktop Support role provides help and expertise across all software platforms and computing equipment within the Gaylor technology environment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Uses Gaylor Performance Values as tools to fulfill all job responsibilities
- Possesses an outgoing, amiable personality, and desire to help others
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledgeable in the Windows desktop environment
- Maintains confidentiality of all Company information
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask
Responsibilities
- Maintains appropriate records, files, and documentation
- Responds to support requests and takes necessary steps to resolve problems
- Documents support issues and solutions
- Remote problem-solving through use of remote connection tools
- Diagnoses Windows and PC hardware issues
- Laptop, tablet, cell phone configurations and deployments
- Basic troubleshooting of LAN and connectivity issues
- Performs data migrations and assists in data restorations on local devices
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work scheduled hours as well as overtime, as required, on short notice
- Must be able to remain calm in times of heightened emotional situations
- Must work well with others as a member of a team to complete tasks
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to wear personnel protective equipment (i.e., hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high visibility vest, safety harness, etc.) when required
- Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
- Possess good vision/hearing (normal or corrected)
- Ability to work while sitting or standing for long periods
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
Education
- CompTIA A+ preferred; may be obtained within first year of employment
Experience
- Previous desktop support or IT helpdesk experience preferred
