Which companies sponsor visas for operations directors in Indiana?
Indiana's largest visa sponsors for senior operations roles include Eli Lilly, Cummins, Sallie Mae, and Anthem (now Elevance Health), along with major logistics and manufacturing firms concentrated around Indianapolis and Fort Wayne. Subaru of Indiana Automotive and steel producers in the northwest corner of the state near Gary also hire operations directors and have established H-1B visa sponsorship histories with the Department of Labor.
Which visa types are most common for operations director roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for operations director roles in Indiana, given that the position typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, industrial engineering, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with multinational employer relationships may also qualify for the L-1A intracompany transferee visa, which is well-suited to director-level roles with managerial responsibilities and carries no annual lottery cap.
Which cities in Indiana have the most operations director sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the largest share of operations director sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by its concentration of healthcare, pharmaceutical, and technology employers. Fort Wayne is the second-strongest market, with significant manufacturing and logistics operations. Columbus, Indiana, home to Cummins' global headquarters, also generates director-level sponsorship for candidates with engineering or supply chain backgrounds. Smaller industrial clusters exist in Terre Haute and Elkhart.
How to find operations director visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse operations director roles in Indiana without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. You can narrow results by location, industry, and role type to focus on Indiana's manufacturing, healthcare, and logistics sectors, where sponsorship for senior operations roles is most consistently offered by established employers.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for operations director visa sponsorship?
Indiana's prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules are determined by the Department of Labor's occupational data for each metropolitan area, so wages for an operations director role in Indianapolis will differ from those in Fort Wayne or smaller markets. Purdue University and Indiana University both produce graduate alumni who pursue operations and supply chain careers, and some employers maintain recruiting pipelines from these programs that extend to internationally educated candidates already familiar with Indiana's industrial base.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored operations director jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
