Position Summary
The Youth Programs Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of community-based mental health programs, with a primary emphasis on youth mental health, prevention, and early intervention initiatives. This role manages programs from concept through implementation and evaluation, supports marketing and communications efforts, leads community outreach and engagement, and provides end-to-end volunteer management.
The Youth Programs Coordinator will plan and manage program timelines, develop and deploy toolkits and promotional assets, support and execute awareness campaigns, compile and analyze participation data, and maintain strong relationships with community partners. This position also requires the ability to drive an agency-owned bus, making a valid driver’s license an essential requirement. (Commercial Driver’s License not required).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION

1. Youth Program Planning, Coordination, and Management
- Plan, implement, and manage community-based youth mental health programs, including prevention, education, and outreach initiatives.
- Manage programs from planning through execution, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Develop and maintain program timelines, schedules, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and community needs.
- Ensure programs adhere to agency standards, grant requirements, and best practices in youth mental health and development.
2. Community Outreach and Partnership Development
- Lead outreach efforts to schools, youth-serving organizations, community partners, and local stakeholders.
- Represent MHA‑WVR at community events, school-based programs, presentations, and tabling opportunities.
- Coordinate outreach logistics, schedules, and materials for off-site programs and events.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative community relationships.
3. Marketing, Communications, and Campaign Support
- Support marketing coordination for youth programs and community initiatives.
- Assist in planning and executing mental health awareness and prevention campaigns focused on youth and families.
- Develop, organize, and distribute toolkits, promotional materials, and outreach assets.
- Support social media and digital outreach efforts related to youth programs and campaigns.
- Ensure messaging aligns with MHA‑WVR branding and mission.
4. Data Collection, Reporting, and Evaluation
- Compile participation data, attendance records, and outreach metrics.
- Track youth engagement, volunteer participation, and program outcomes.
- Assist with data analysis to evaluate program effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
- Prepare summaries and reports for leadership, funders, and internal planning.
5. Volunteer Coordination and Management
- Manage end-to-end volunteer coordination, including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, training support, and engagement.
- Serve as a primary contact for volunteers supporting youth programs and outreach.
- Track volunteer hours, activities, and placements.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven volunteer experience.
6. Transportation and Logistics
- Safely operate and drive an agency-owned bus (Minds in Motion) to and from schools, community sites, and events.
- Assist with logistical planning, setup, and breakdown for programs and events.
- Follow all agency safety and transportation policies.
7. Cross-Organizational Collaboration
- Collaborate with staff across departments to support agency-wide initiatives and events.
- Stay current on youth mental health trends, best practices, and community needs.
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development activities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (public health, social work, education, communications, nonprofit management, or related) or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of experience in program coordination, nonprofit services, community outreach, or youth-focused work preferred.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Other Skills & Abilities
- Strong interest in and commitment to mental health, youth development, and community wellness.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital outreach tools.
- Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
