Position Summary
The Solution Manager provides strategic leadership across a portfolio of commercial, third-party, and internally built software solutions supporting Clinical Data Management, operating with full autonomy across vendor strategy, solution architecture guidance, stakeholder alignment, and enterprise configuration governance. At the P4 level, the role makes decisions that impact the function, drives solutions across the data management area, and influences complex technical and business issues. It holds Product Owner accountability for internally built capabilities—integrations, APIs, RPA, agentic workflows, agents, and data products—while maintaining vendor governance for commercial platforms. Consistent with Lilly's technology direction, the role is technically hands-on and deeply AI-skilled, driving responsible adoption of AI and agentic capabilities across the data management ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Own portfolio strategy and lifecycle for Clinical Data Management across commercial platforms and internally built capabilities, ensuring sustained business value.
- Serve as accountable Product Owner for internally built capabilities, owning backlog, prioritization, sprint ceremonies, and stakeholder demos, with working knowledge of the underlying technologies.
- Lead vendor and platform strategy, including make-vs.-buy decisions, QBR governance, vendor rationalization, and contract strategy with procurement and legal.
- Drive responsible adoption of AI, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation, ensuring readiness, compliance, and measurable impact.
- Define and govern configuration and release management—platform setup, environment standards, promotion controls, CI/CD, deployment governance, and rollback—combining hands-on configuration with deep technical expertise.
- Drive Agile delivery with engineering and platform teams to ship high-value data capabilities on time and at quality.
- Lead build-vs.-configure-vs.-buy decisions, weighing extensibility, integration feasibility, and total cost of ownership.
- Ensure compliance for regulated solutions, including GxP validation strategy, data integrity, quality planning, and change control.
- Establish performance and value frameworks—KPIs, adoption metrics, and executive-level reporting.
- Influence complex regulatory, business, and technical issues and represent solution management in governance forums.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in clinical development, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), or a regulated (GxP) environment within pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare, including validation and change control processes.
- Experience in solution, product, or platform management with accountability for complex portfolios spanning commercial and internally built capabilities.
- Experience in ownership of solution lifecycle and Agile/SAFe delivery with Product Owner responsibilities (backlog, prioritization, acceptance criteria, demos).
- Experience leveraging AI in day-to-day delivery, including evaluating and applying AI/ML and agentic capabilities.
- Experience in enterprise data platforms and integration technologies, including hands-on configuration and the ability to guide engineering teams.
- Experience defining and executing vendor strategy, including make-vs.-buy and ongoing governance.
- Experience establishing configuration and release management, including environment governance and CI/CD alignment.
- Experience in executive stakeholder management and the ability to represent technology in governance forums.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with clinical data management platforms and their configuration, extensibility, and integration patterns.
- Hands-on experience with internally built capabilities—APIs, integrations, RPA, agentic workflows, agents, and data products.
- Proficiency with DevOps and configuration tooling such as Azure DevOps or GitLab.
- Understanding of modern architecture patterns—cloud, API management, event-driven, and SaaS/PaaS models.
- Relevant certifications (SAFe, Product Management, Cloud, or AI/ML).

Which companies sponsor visas for solution managers in Indiana?
Enterprise software firms, healthcare technology companies, and logistics providers are among the most active sponsors for solution manager roles in Indiana. Companies like Genesys, Salesforce, Eli Lilly, and Cummins have filed Labor Condition Applications for solution management positions in the state. Larger employers with established HR infrastructure are generally more equipped to navigate H-1B sponsorship than smaller firms.
Which visa types are most common for solution manager roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for solution manager positions in Indiana, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, or engineering, meeting specialty occupation criteria. L-1A visas apply when a candidate transfers intracompany into a managerial solution role. Candidates already on OPT or STEM OPT may also be eligible for employer sponsorship into H-1B status.
Which cities in Indiana have the most solution manager sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the largest share of solution manager sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by its concentration of enterprise technology, healthcare, and financial services employers. Fort Wayne has growing manufacturing technology and logistics firms that hire for solution management roles. Bloomington, home to Indiana University, supports a smaller but active tech sector with occasional sponsorship opportunities tied to university-affiliated and startup employers.
How to find solution manager visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate filters solution manager jobs in Indiana specifically by visa sponsorship availability, saving you from manually screening postings that don't support international candidates. The platform surfaces roles from employers with documented H-1B and L-1 filing histories in the state. Searching solution manager positions through Migrate Mate gives you a focused view of Indiana employers actively open to sponsoring work visas.
Are there state-specific considerations for solution managers seeking sponsorship in Indiana?
Indiana does not have a state-level visa sponsorship program, so candidates rely entirely on employer-driven federal pathways. The Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements for solution manager positions reflect Midwest wage levels, which are generally lower than coastal markets, and employers must meet those benchmarks when filing an LCA. Indiana's strong manufacturing and agribusiness sectors mean solution manager roles here often focus on operational technology and supply chain platforms rather than pure software products.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored solution manager jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
