McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for Phlebotomist for its Ames Lab department. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include:
- Collecting and receiving specimens to be tested
- Preparing and dispatching specimens for testing
- Performing receptionist duties
- Collecting blood samples by venipuncture, heel stick and finger stick
- Obtaining urine and other specimens from patients
- Performing receptionist and other clerical duties as needed
- Stocking and maintaining supplies in work areas
- Helping to keep work area clean
- Attending required meetings and participating on committee as requested
- Performing related work as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High School Diploma, GED or HiSET
- Formal training and/or experience in phlebotomy required
Certification/License
- Prefer Certification in Phlebotomy
- Current Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers
- Mandatory Reporting of Dependent Adult and Child Abuse
Experience
- Computer skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Phlebotomy experience in fast paced clinical laboratory environment
- Medical terminology
SCHEDULE
Days: Monday - Thursday. Occasional Friday. Saturday rotation
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM - 32 hours per week
Pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background checks are a condition of hire.
