Which companies in Iowa sponsor visas for project administrators?
Iowa employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship activity in project administration include Principal Financial Group and Meredith Corporation in Des Moines, Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, and John Deere in the Quad Cities corridor. Iowa's university system, including the University of Iowa and Iowa State University, also sponsors project administrators in research and operations roles.
Which visa types are most common for project administrator roles in Iowa?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project administrators in Iowa, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business administration, engineering, or information technology. Some roles at Iowa universities may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B filings, which are not subject to the annual lottery.
Which Iowa cities have the most project administrator visa sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines concentrates the largest share of project administrator sponsorship activity, driven by its insurance, finance, and healthcare sectors. Cedar Rapids follows, with manufacturing and aerospace employers like Collins Aerospace regularly hiring for these roles. Ames and Iowa City also generate demand through Iowa State University and the University of Iowa respectively.
How to find project administrator visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it practical to search for project administrator roles in Iowa without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. You can filter by location and role type to identify Iowa-based openings at companies with active sponsorship histories in project administration and related fields.
Are there state-specific considerations for project administrators seeking sponsorship in Iowa?
Iowa's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B project administrators are determined by the Department of Labor using regional data for metro areas like Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, which generally reflect lower costs of living than coastal markets. Employers must certify that the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the specific occupation and location before filing an H-1B petition.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project administrator jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
