Which companies sponsor visas for director of projects roles in Kansas?
Burns & McDonnell, Spirit AeroSystems, Evergy, and Garmin are among the larger Kansas employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories. Construction management firms and engineering consultancies operating in the Wichita and Kansas City metro areas also file sponsorship petitions for senior project leadership roles, particularly when candidates bring specialized expertise in aerospace, energy, or infrastructure delivery.
Which visa types are most common for director of projects roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for director of projects positions in Kansas, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, construction management, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Multinational candidates may qualify for an L-1A intracompany transferee visa if they are moving from a related entity abroad into a managerial or executive capacity.
Which cities in Kansas have the most director of projects sponsorship jobs?
Wichita leads in director of projects sponsorship activity, driven by its aerospace and manufacturing base anchored by Spirit AeroSystems, Textron Aviation, and Bombardier Learjet. The Kansas City metro area, including Overland Park and Lenexa, is the second most active market, with corporate headquarters, engineering firms, and energy companies that regularly sponsor senior project management talent.
How to find director of projects visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse director of projects openings in Kansas without sorting through roles that do not offer sponsorship. The platform focuses on international candidates, so listings are pre-screened for sponsorship intent across industries including aerospace, construction, and energy that are most active in the Kansas market.
Are there state-specific considerations for director of projects candidates seeking sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas employers sponsoring H-1B workers must file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor certifying that the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the region and role. In Kansas, prevailing wages are benchmarked to the Wichita and Kansas City metropolitan statistical areas, which reflect local market rates rather than national figures. Candidates should expect that employers in mid-sized Kansas markets may have smaller dedicated immigration HR teams than coastal employers, so timelines can vary.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of projects jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
