Which companies in Kansas sponsor visas for project specialists?
Kansas employers with documented H-1B sponsorship history in project and program management roles include Spirit AeroSystems and Textron Aviation in Wichita, Cerner (now Oracle Health) in the Kansas City metro area, and agricultural technology firms affiliated with Koch Industries. University systems such as the University of Kansas and Kansas State University also sponsor project specialists in research administration and grant management roles.
Which visa types are most common for project specialist roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project specialists in Kansas, particularly for roles requiring a bachelor's degree in engineering, information systems, business, or a related field. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and offers a faster path to sponsorship. Canadian and Mexican nationals working in qualifying project management capacities may be eligible under the TN visa category.
Which cities in Kansas have the most project specialist sponsorship jobs?
Wichita is the primary hub, driven by its aerospace and manufacturing sector, where project specialists coordinate production schedules, supplier relationships, and compliance programs. The Kansas City metro area, spanning both Kansas and Missouri, is the second major concentration, with demand coming from healthcare IT, financial services, and logistics firms. Lawrence and Manhattan offer smaller but consistent pipelines through university research operations.
How to find project specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can search project specialist roles in Kansas without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. The platform surfaces openings from Kansas employers in aerospace, healthcare, and agriculture technology sectors that have active sponsorship programs, saving significant time compared to reviewing unfiltered listings where sponsorship status is often unclear.
Are there state-specific considerations for project specialists seeking sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas employers filing H-1B petitions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific metropolitan statistical area, which differ between Wichita, the Kansas City metro, and rural counties. Candidates with PMP certification or relevant engineering credentials tend to strengthen the specialty occupation classification for project specialist titles, since USCIS scrutinizes roles where the degree requirement must be clearly tied to the position's core duties.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project specialist jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
