Which companies sponsor visas for customer program managers in Maryland?
Federal contractors and technology firms make up the largest share of customer program manager sponsorship activity in Maryland. Companies such as Leidos, Booz Allen Hamilton, Northrop Grumman, and Jacobs Engineering have established HR infrastructure for sponsoring H-1B visa and other work visas. Large healthcare systems like Johns Hopkins Medicine and UMMS also hire customer program managers and have sponsored international candidates in similar roles.
Which visa types are most common for customer program manager roles in Maryland?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for customer program managers in Maryland, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, information technology, or a related discipline. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT may begin working before an H-1B petition is filed. L-1 visa transfers are also used by multinational firms moving managers from overseas offices into Maryland-based positions.
Which cities in Maryland have the most customer program manager sponsorship jobs?
Bethesda and Rockville in Montgomery County generate the highest concentration of customer program manager openings tied to visa sponsorship, largely due to the federal contractor and biotech presence there. Baltimore is the second major hub, particularly in healthcare IT and defense technology. Annapolis and Columbia also have active hiring from government-adjacent technology and consulting firms seeking experienced program management professionals.
How to find customer program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Maryland?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can search customer program manager roles in Maryland without sorting through positions that exclude international candidates. The platform surfaces openings from federal contractors, healthcare organizations, and technology employers across Bethesda, Baltimore, and the DC suburbs. Filtering by location and role on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to reviewing unfiltered job listings.
Are there any Maryland-specific considerations for customer program managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Maryland's heavy federal contractor presence means many customer program manager roles require security clearances, which are generally not accessible to non-US citizens or recent permanent residents. International candidates should prioritize roles with commercial clients or civilian-facing programs rather than cleared positions. Maryland also sits within a high-cost labor market, so Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for H-1B filings reflect compensation levels in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area specifically.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored customer program manager jobs in Maryland?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
