ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a seasoned Program Manager to lead and deliver large-scale Master Data Management implementations for top-tier pharmaceutical clients. This is a high-impact, client-facing role where you will serve as the primary delivery leader across complex, multi-stakeholder MDM programs — from initial solutioning through go-live and beyond. You will operate at the intersection of business consulting, technology delivery, and executive engagement, requiring equal fluency in data strategy conversations with C-suite stakeholders and hands-on program governance with delivery teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Delivery & Governance:
- Lead end-to-end MDM program delivery for Big Pharma clients, managing scope, schedule, budget, risks, and quality across all phases
- Coordinate with multiple upstream and downstream systems to develop integrated, consolidated delivery plans
- Define and maintain program governance structures including workstream leads, RACI matrices, and escalation paths
- Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate program risks and delivery challenges to both internal and client leadership
Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders — building trusted relationships with VPs, Directors within Pharma organizations
- Facilitate program steering committee (SteerCo) meetings, preparing and presenting executive-level status reports, milestone summaries, and risk dashboards
- Translate complex technical MDM concepts into clear business impact narratives for non-technical audiences
Cross-functional Coordination:
- Partner with data architects, MDM solution leads, data stewards, and integration teams to ensure cohesive execution across all workstreams
- Align cross-functional teams on data domain priorities (HCP/HCO, Product, Patient, Reference Data) and manage dependencies across parallel tracks
Pre-Sales & Business Development:
- Actively contribute to and lead the development of RFP responses for MDM, Data Governance, and related Data Management engagements
- Collaborate with solution architects and practice leads to craft compelling proposals, effort estimates, and delivery approaches
- Represent delivery expertise in client orals, workshops, and capability presentations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 12+ years of experience in program/project management within Data Management, MDM, or Enterprise Data domains
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale MDM implementations (Reltio, Informatica MDM, Stibo, TIBCO EBX, or similar platforms) for pharmaceutical or life sciences clients
- Deep understanding of Pharma data domains — HCP/HCO master data, product hierarchies, reference data, or patient data
- Strong experience managing cross-functional delivery teams across business and technology workstreams
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and present executive-level materials (SteerCo decks, program dashboards, risk registers)
- Hands-on proficiency with Jira for program tracking, sprint management, and reporting
- Prior experience contributing to or leading Data Governance and MDM RFP responses
- Comfort with AI tools and emerging technologies to drive delivery efficiency and insight generation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with commercial pharma processes such as incentive compensation, affiliations, or territory alignment
- Background in Agile delivery methodologies within MDM or Data Platform programs
SOFT SKILLS & LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for audiences ranging from data engineers to C-suite executives
- Confident and credible presenter — able to walk a SteerCo through a difficult conversation (scope change, budget overrun, timeline risk) without losing stakeholder trust
- Builds strong, enduring relationships with clients that extend beyond the current engagement; seen as a trusted advisor, not just a vendor
- Approaches ambiguous situations with structured thinking — able to quickly frame the problem, identify options, and drive toward a decision
- Takes full ownership of program outcomes — does not deflect when things go sideways, and proactively drives corrective action
- Holds teams and clients accountable to commitments in a way that is firm but respectful
- Brings a "delivery-first" mindset — focused on outcomes, not just activities

Which companies sponsor visas for customer program managers in New Jersey?
New Jersey's largest visa sponsors for customer program manager roles include Cognizant, Infosys, and Wipro, which regularly file H-1B visa petitions for program management positions. Pharmaceutical and life sciences employers such as Johnson & Johnson, Merck, and Becton Dickinson also sponsor these roles, particularly where the position involves managing clinical or commercial client programs. Large financial services and insurance firms headquartered in the state round out the sponsorship pool.
Which visa types are most common for customer program manager roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B is the most common visa for customer program managers in New Jersey, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, project management, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. L-1B intracompany transferees fill a share of these positions at multinationals with U.S. offices in New Jersey. Candidates with extraordinary achievement in program management may qualify for the O-1 visa, though that classification is less common for this role.
How to find customer program manager visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find customer program manager roles in New Jersey where employers are actively open to visa sponsorship. The platform filters specifically for sponsorship-willing employers, removing the guesswork of cold-applying to companies with no sponsorship history. Focusing your search on the Princeton corridor, Newark, and Parsippany areas will surface the highest concentration of relevant openings from both technology services firms and enterprise employers.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most customer program manager sponsorship jobs?
Princeton and the surrounding Route 1 corridor consistently see the highest volume of customer program manager postings with sponsorship, driven by pharmaceutical headquarters and technology consulting offices concentrated there. Newark attracts program management roles tied to financial services and logistics firms. Parsippany and Iselin are also active markets, home to the U.S. headquarters of several global IT services companies that routinely sponsor H-1B workers for client-facing program management positions.
What should international candidates know about customer program manager sponsorship in New Jersey specifically?
New Jersey's high concentration of H-1B-dependent employers in the IT services sector means some sponsoring companies must attest they have not displaced U.S. workers before hiring a sponsored candidate. Program management roles sponsored through these firms tend to be tied to specific client engagements, so candidates should clarify project continuity and employer commitment before accepting an offer. New Jersey's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B positions are set by the Department of Labor and reflect the state's relatively high cost-of-living market, which generally supports competitive offers in this role category.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored customer program manager jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
