Which companies sponsor visas for director of program management roles in Maryland?
Federal contractors and defense firms are the most active sponsors in Maryland. Leidos, Booz Allen Hamilton, Northrop Grumman, and SAIC regularly sponsor H-1B visas for senior program management roles tied to government contracts. Johns Hopkins Health System and the University of Maryland Medical System also sponsor for program management positions on the healthcare and research side.
Which visa types are most common for director of program management roles in Maryland?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for director of program management roles in Maryland, as the position typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specialized field like engineering, business, or information systems. Candidates already holding L-1A visas through multinational transfers also appear frequently at large defense contractors and consulting firms operating in the state.
Which cities in Maryland have the most director of program management sponsorship jobs?
Bethesda and Rockville in Montgomery County lead the state, given their concentration of federal contractors and biotech firms. The National Capital Region corridor along the I-270 and I-495 corridors accounts for the largest share of sponsoring employers.
How to find director of program management visa sponsorship jobs in Maryland?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search director of program management roles in Maryland without sifting through postings from employers who don't sponsor. Are there any state-specific considerations for director of program management visa sponsorship in Maryland?
Many director of program management roles in Maryland are tied to federal government contracts, which can require security clearances. Visa holders can generally apply for and hold certain clearance levels, but the process involves additional review steps and some classified contracts restrict sponsorship. Candidates should confirm clearance eligibility requirements with each employer before applying, as this affects both sponsorship timelines and role accessibility.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of program management jobs in Maryland?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
