Which companies sponsor visas for director of program management roles in Kansas?
Employers with established sponsorship histories for senior program management roles in Kansas include Garmin in Olathe, Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita, Cerner (now Oracle Health) in the Kansas City metro, Burns & McDonnell in Overland Park, and Koch Industries. Aerospace and defense contractors tend to be among the most active sponsors for director-level program management positions, given the technical complexity and specialized expertise required.
Which visa types are most common for director of program management roles in Kansas?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for director of program management positions in Kansas, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or information technology. Candidates already authorized through L-1A intracompany transferee visas or O-1 visa extraordinary ability visas may also be hired at the director level. Some employers also sponsor EB-1C or EB-2 immigrant petitions for long-term senior hires.
Which cities in Kansas have the most director of program management sponsorship jobs?
Overland Park and the broader Kansas City metro area account for the largest share of director of program management openings in Kansas, driven by technology, healthcare IT, and consulting employers. Wichita is the second-largest market, with aerospace and defense firms such as Spirit AeroSystems and Textron Aviation headquartered there. Olathe also surfaces regularly due to Garmin's substantial program management workforce.
How to find director of program management visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find director of program management roles in Kansas without sorting through positions that do not offer sponsorship. You can search by state and job title to surface verified sponsoring employers in cities like Overland Park, Wichita, and Olathe. Focusing on aerospace, defense, healthcare IT, and engineering consulting sectors tends to yield the strongest results for this role in Kansas.
Are there any state-specific considerations for director of program management sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas does not impose state-level visa or work authorization requirements beyond federal standards, but the prevailing wage for director of program management roles varies meaningfully between metropolitan markets like Overland Park and smaller cities like Wichita. Employers sponsoring H-1B petitions must certify wages at or above the applicable prevailing wage level set by the Department of Labor for the specific location. Kansas's aerospace and defense sector also means some roles involve security clearance requirements, which can affect sponsorship eligibility for non-citizens.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of program management jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
