ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is a contract for approximately 6 to 8 months.
As the Senior Director of Special Projects for the AI Team, you will be an acting interim leader of the AI Team.
You will work remote 3 weeks of the month. You will be required to travel to the Westinghouse headquarters in Cranberry Township, PA or to our Westinghouse Madrid, Spain the 1 week of the month.
You will report to the Director of Operations and office to the CTO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Senior Director of Special Projects for the AI Team, your key responsibilities are as follows:
- Deliver against the AI team OKRs
- Develop team capabilities and competencies
- Lead delivery of ~20 AI solutions by the end of Q3
- Validate the make-vs-buy strategy for AI solutions
- Plan team upskilling and resource needs
- Prepare a transition plan for the permanent candidate
- 25% Travel required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Electrical/Systems Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in software/AI product development
- 5+ years of experience leading teams (AI/ML, software, UX, and QA)
- Hands-on familiarity with:
- AI agents/orchestration frameworks, LLMs, traditional ML, reinforcement learning
- Modern application stacks (microservices, REST/GraphQL), and front-end frameworks (React/Angular/Vue)
- CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability/telemetry (logs, metrics, traces)
- Experience running simulation or test labs, or large-scale staging environments
- Demonstrated track record in security-conscious environments (policy, identity and access, data protection)
- You will successfully pass the stringent background and preemployment drug screen
