Which companies sponsor visas for director of program management roles in Washington DC?
Federal contractors and consulting firms are the most active sponsors. Booz Allen Hamilton, Leidos, SAIC, Deloitte Federal, Accenture Federal Services, and Peraton have consistent histories of H-1B visa sponsorship for senior program management positions in the DC area. Large technology companies with federal divisions, such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, also sponsor at this level. Sponsorship patterns can be verified through Department of Labor LCA disclosure data.
Which visa types are most common for director of program management roles in Washington DC?
The H-1B is the most common visa for director of program management roles in DC. The position generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as business, engineering, or information systems. Senior candidates with extraordinary ability may also qualify for the O-1A. Those transferring within multinational firms may be eligible for the L-1A, which covers managers and executives.
How to find director of program management visa sponsorship jobs in Washington DC?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States. You can filter directly for director of program management roles in Washington DC and see which employers are actively hiring and sponsoring. Because the DC market is heavily driven by federal contracting cycles, checking Migrate Mate regularly is useful since sponsorship-eligible openings shift with contract awards and agency budget timelines.
Which cities in Washington DC have the most director of program management sponsorship jobs?
Washington DC itself is the primary hub, with concentrations in the Foggy Bottom, Navy Yard, and downtown corridors where federal agencies and major contractors are headquartered. The broader metro area extends sponsorship activity into Northern Virginia cities like Arlington, McLean, and Reston, and into Bethesda and Rockville in Maryland. Many employers list DC addresses while operating across this tri-state metro footprint, so searching the full region is worthwhile.
Are there any DC-specific considerations for director of program management visa sponsorship?
DC's director of program management roles often require or preference security clearance eligibility, which affects sponsorship decisions. Employers sponsoring non-citizens for cleared positions face additional vetting requirements, and some clearance-dependent roles are effectively closed to candidates requiring sponsorship. Candidates without clearance history should focus on commercial divisions or agencies where clearance is not a prerequisite. The Department of Labor's prevailing wage determinations for DC reflect the area's high cost of living and competitive compensation market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of program management jobs in Washington DC?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
