Which companies sponsor visas for director of program management roles in Massachusetts?
Large employers with consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for program management leadership include Biogen, Raytheon Technologies, Boston Scientific, MathWorks, Wayfair, and HubSpot. Massachusetts General Hospital and major academic medical centers also sponsor senior program directors. Defense contractors along the Route 128 corridor tend to require security clearance eligibility, which can affect sponsorship for some international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for director of program management roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for director of program management positions in Massachusetts, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specialized field such as engineering, computer science, or business. Some candidates transition through L-1A intracompany transferee status if their employer has international offices. Candidates with extraordinary achievement in program leadership may explore the O-1A, though it requires substantial documentation of recognition.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most director of program management sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the largest share, driven by the Seaport District's tech and biotech firms and Cambridge's concentration of life sciences companies and research institutions. Waltham and Burlington along Route 128 host significant defense, medtech, and enterprise software employers. Worcester is an emerging secondary market, with UMass Memorial Health and several manufacturing technology companies hiring senior program leaders.
How to find director of program management visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search director of program management roles in Massachusetts without sifting through positions that don't sponsor. Because director-level roles are posted less frequently than individual contributor positions, setting up alerts on Migrate Mate for this specific title in Massachusetts helps you respond quickly when openings appear at sponsoring employers across the Boston metro and Route 128 corridor.
Are there any state-specific considerations for director of program management visa sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts employers must comply with federal prevailing wage requirements when sponsoring H-1B holders, and director-level program management roles typically fall into the higher wage tiers given their seniority. The state's dense university pipeline, including MIT, Northeastern, and Boston University, creates strong competition for senior roles. Candidates with PMP certification or domain expertise in life sciences, defense, or enterprise software tend to be more competitive with Massachusetts sponsoring employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of program management jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
