Which companies sponsor visas for director of program management roles in Tennessee?
HCA Healthcare and Community Health Systems in Nashville, FedEx in Memphis, and contractors supporting Oak Ridge National Laboratory in East Tennessee are among the employers with histories of sponsoring senior program management roles. Large defense contractors such as Leidos and SAIC also have Tennessee operations where director-level program management positions have supported H-1B sponsorship for qualified international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for director of program management roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for director of program management positions in Tennessee, as these roles consistently qualify as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field. Candidates with extraordinary achievement may pursue an O-1A. Those already on L-1A visas as intracompany managers may also transfer to Tennessee-based positions through a multinational employer.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most director of program management sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads the state, driven by its large healthcare, technology, and corporate headquarters presence. Memphis is a significant hub due to FedEx's global operations and a growing logistics-sector employer base. Knoxville and Oak Ridge attract director-level program managers in defense, energy, and research contexts, particularly through federal contractors and the Department of Energy ecosystem surrounding Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
How to find director of program management visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters director of program management roles specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not sorting through listings that don't support international candidates. For Tennessee, use Migrate Mate to target Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville employers across healthcare, logistics, and defense sectors. The platform focuses on roles where sponsorship is a realistic part of the hiring process, which is especially relevant for senior director-level positions.
Are there state-specific considerations for director of program management visa sponsorship in Tennessee?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects total compensation comparisons when evaluating offers against positions in other states. For H-1B purposes, employers must file a Labor Condition Application reflecting the prevailing wage for the specific metropolitan area, so Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville each carry different wage determinations. Tennessee's concentration of federal contractors also means some roles may require security clearance eligibility, which can affect sponsorship timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of program management jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
