Which companies in Illinois sponsor visas for director of program management roles?
Major Illinois-based employers that have filed H-1B petitions for senior program management positions include Motorola Solutions, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, United Airlines, Zebra Technologies, and Baxter International. Large consulting firms with Chicago offices, including Accenture, Deloitte, and McKinsey, also sponsor visa holders at the director level. Enterprise technology and healthcare companies tend to have established immigration programs and in-house legal support to manage sponsorship.
Which visa types are most common for director of program management roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa category for director of program management positions in Illinois, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or computer science. Candidates already holding L-1A status through an intracompany transfer to a Chicago office can also qualify. Senior professionals with exceptional records may explore the O-1A. The E-3 applies exclusively to Australian nationals.
Which cities in Illinois have the most director of program management sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of director of program management sponsorship activity in Illinois, particularly in the Loop, River North, and Fulton Market districts where technology and professional services firms are concentrated. Suburbs such as Schaumburg, Deerfield, and Lisle also have significant employer presence, driven by companies like Motorola Solutions and Baxter International. Opportunities outside the Chicago metro area are considerably more limited for this level of seniority.
How to find director of program management visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify director of program management openings in Illinois where employers are actively willing to sponsor. Because sponsorship willingness is not always stated in standard job postings, using a platform built around sponsorship data saves significant research time. Migrate Mate covers Illinois employers across technology, healthcare, logistics, and professional services, which are the primary sectors hiring at this level.
Are there any Illinois-specific considerations for director of program management visa sponsorship?
Illinois employers filing H-1B petitions for director of program management roles must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which reflect Chicago's competitive market rates for senior management positions. The state's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters means many employers have experienced immigration counsel and structured sponsorship processes. Candidates should be aware that director-level roles at consulting firms may involve multi-site project work, which can affect the work location listed on the Labor Condition Application.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of program management jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
