Our growth has come from innovative, bold approaches to solving some of the world’s most challenging communication technology problems in the most efficient and effective manner.
MaxLinear began by developing the world’s first high-performance TV tuner chip using standard CMOS process technology. Others said we couldn’t achieve the extremely high-performance requirements using CMOS, but we proved them wrong and achieved enduring global market leadership with our designs. Since then, we’ve developed a full line of products that drive 4G and 5G infrastructure; enable data center, metro and long-haul optical interconnects; bring 10Gbit to the home; power the IoT revolution; and enable robust and reliable communication in harsh industrial environments. Over the years, we’ve expanded through organic growth and through several acquisitions that have perfectly complemented our existing portfolio and enabled us to deliver complete end-to-end solutions in our target markets. One such example was the acquisition of Intel’s Home Gateway Platform Division that added Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and Broadband Gateway Processor SoC technology to our connected home portfolio creating a complete and scalable platform of connectivity and access solutions to fully address our customers’ needs.
Our headquarters are in Carlsbad, near San Diego, California. We also have major design centers in Irvine and San Jose, California; Valencia, Spain; Bangalore, India; Munich, Germany; Israel; and Singapore.

Which companies sponsor visas for directors of program management in California?
Large technology companies are the most consistent sponsors for this role in California. Google, Apple, Meta, Salesforce, Adobe, Qualcomm, and Cisco have all filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for director-level program management positions. Defense and aerospace firms like Northrop Grumman and Raytheon also sponsor in Southern California. Sponsorship at this level is most common at companies with established HR and immigration infrastructure.
Which visa types are most common for director of program management roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for director of program management roles in California, as the position typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, or business. Senior candidates may also qualify for the O-1A if they have demonstrated exceptional achievement. Those transferring within a multinational company may be eligible for the L-1A intracompany transferee visa.
Which cities in California have the most director of program management sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area, including San Jose, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, and San Francisco itself, accounts for the highest concentration of these roles due to the density of large technology employers. San Diego has meaningful activity from biotech, defense, and semiconductor firms such as Qualcomm.
How to find director of program management visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles in the United States. You can filter by state and job title to surface director of program management positions in California where employers have a documented history of sponsoring work visas. This removes the need to manually screen postings and makes it easier to focus your applications on companies that are realistically open to sponsoring your visa.
Are there any California-specific considerations for director of program management sponsorship candidates?
California's prevailing wage rules under H-1B requirements reflect the state's high cost of living, so offered compensation for director-level roles must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage levels for the specific metro area. The Bay Area and Los Angeles have higher prevailing wage thresholds than many other states. Candidates with graduate degrees from UC Berkeley, UCLA, or Stanford often have an advantage given existing employer relationships with those institutions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of program management jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
