Which companies sponsor visas for director of program management roles in Connecticut?
Hartford-based insurers such as Aetna and The Hartford, defense contractors including Sikorsky Aircraft and Raytheon, and Stamford-area corporations like Synchrony and Charter Communications have filed H-1B petitions for program management leadership roles. Pharmaceutical and biotech employers in the Fairfield County corridor also sponsor these positions, particularly where the role requires a technical degree alongside program oversight experience.
Which visa types are most common for director of program management roles in Connecticut?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for director of program management roles in Connecticut, as the position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, or business. Candidates with multinational employer experience may also be considered for L-1A intracompany transferee visas, which are used for managers and executives transferring within the same corporate family.
Which cities in Connecticut have the most director of program management sponsorship jobs?
Stamford and Hartford are the two primary hubs. Stamford attracts financial services, media, and technology employers with significant program management functions, while Hartford is home to insurance giants, aerospace firms, and healthcare organizations. Shelton and Farmington also see sponsorship activity from medical device and manufacturing companies. Bridgeport and New Haven have a smaller but growing presence, partly supported by Yale University's affiliated research and healthcare operations.
How to find director of program management visa sponsorship jobs in Connecticut?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse director of program management roles in Connecticut without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform is built for international candidates, making it easier to identify employers in Hartford, Stamford, and beyond who are actively willing to sponsor. Filtering by state and role on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to manually researching each employer's sponsorship history.
Are there any Connecticut-specific considerations for director of program management visa sponsorship?
Connecticut's concentration of defense and aerospace employers means some director of program management roles may require security clearances, which can complicate or limit sponsorship for foreign nationals. The state's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program are tied to the Hartford and Bridgeport-Stamford metropolitan areas, and wages for director-level program management roles in these metros tend to reflect senior professional benchmarks. Candidates should confirm whether a specific role falls under classified or export-controlled programs before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of program management jobs in Connecticut?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
