JOB PURPOSE:
The Director of Intake plans and directs all aspects of home health, admissions, and growth. Duties include negotiating contracts such as workers compensation, initiating proposals, and creating partnerships. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Leads and directs all Intake staff. Contributes to the overall strategic planning and execution of a comprehensive growth organization. This includes strengthening the organization’s strategic position in the marketplace by focusing on customer experience and maintaining and developing new business relationships including but not limited to home health, with key referral sources.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for increasing revenues and admissions each year per the organization’s strategic growth goals and ensuring access for appropriate patients.

Develops and refines strategies that will improve referral source loyalty and admissions effectiveness and strengthen the strategic position of the organization in the market across stakeholder groups.

Works to increase the quality and productivity of the admission process to increase access to appropriate patients while decreasing the average cost of processing referrals and admissions.

Establishes policies and procedures that consistently meet the Federal and State guidelines as described by Compliance.

Leads the development and management of new programs and materials that support the strategic growth strategies of the organization.

Negotiates contracts when applicable.

Works with all departments to foster effective communication on new business development endeavors; and meets to identify and address potential or current issues that could adversely affect admissions, business growth, or our position in the market.

Drives referral source satisfaction survey process: monitors customer service issues and lead efforts, as needed, to drive strategies and specific initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction scores and referral source retention/development.

Serves as a “brand champion” for the organization to promote and protect the company brand through message consistency, and alignment with organizational vision and values.

Responsible for creating awareness of company to expand access to services provided and increase market penetration in service area.

Develops and effectively implements action plans and assumes responsibility for outcome measurements of the admissions.

Works with other departments to define systems to accurately track referral and admission activity by source as driven by the marketing representatives and admitted by admissions team.

Perform other related duties as assigned and required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Establishing and fostering customer relationships.
- Proficient in planning, organizing, budgeting, goal setting and maximizing effectiveness across areas of responsibility.
- Ability to develop key issue consensus among clinicians and administrators within the organization.
- The ability to represent and articulate the organization’s mission and value across internal and external stakeholder groups.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in related field; master’s degree in business administration or healthcare administration preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
7 or more years at the leadership level in business development, marketing and communications, sales and service delivery experience required.

- Excellent written and verbal presentation and facilitation skills.
- Financial management (i.e., forecasting, budgeting, outcome measurements).
