Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Support Project Managers and Field Superintendents throughout all phases of commercial construction projects.
- Coordinate project activities to help maintain schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
Preconstruction & Procurement
- Assist with subcontractor and supplier solicitation, bid evaluation, scope development, purchasing, and procurement activities.
- Support project startup, mobilization, and preconstruction planning.
Project Scheduling
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating baseline construction schedules.
- Monitor project progress and provide schedule updates on a bi-weekly basis.
- Help identify scheduling conflicts and recommend corrective actions.
Contracts & Project Documentation
- Prepare scopes of work for subcontract agreements and purchase orders.
- Review, process, track, and distribute construction submittals.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure timely communication and distribution of project information to all stakeholders.
Change Management
- Assist in preparing, pricing, submitting, and tracking Requests for Change Orders (RCOs) and Change Orders.
- Maintain documentation for design revisions, drawing updates, and contract modifications.
- Distribute revised plans and specifications to subcontractors and suppliers.
Project Meetings & RFIs
- Participate in owner meetings, subcontractor meetings, foreman meetings, commissioning meetings, and project coordination meetings.
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes.
- Assist with preparation, tracking, and resolution of Requests for Information (RFIs).
Financial Administration
- Support monthly owner pay applications and progress billings.
- Review subcontractor and supplier invoices and payment applications for accuracy.
- Assist with project cost tracking and financial reporting.
Quality Control & Project Closeout
- Support quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) throughout construction.
- Assist with punch list development, tracking, and completion.
- Coordinate project closeout documentation, including record drawings (as-builts), warranties, Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, and turnover packages.
Sustainability & Construction Technology
- Track LEED documentation, including material logs, submittals, and photo documentation.
- Support commissioning activities and project closeout requirements.
- Assist with Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination using industry-standard software.
Qualifications
- Associate degree required.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Two or more years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager within commercial construction is preferred.
- Experience supporting commercial construction projects valued at $10 million or more is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
- Experience with construction management software such as Primavera P6, Sage Timberline, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360), Prolog, or similar platforms is preferred.
