Which companies sponsor visas for logistics managers in Maryland?
Employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for logistics and supply chain roles in Maryland include Amazon, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Booz Allen Hamilton, and several third-party logistics firms operating near the Port of Baltimore. Federal contractors in the Baltimore-Washington corridor tend to sponsor more consistently than smaller regional distributors, partly because they maintain dedicated HR and legal infrastructure for immigration filings.
Which visa types are most common for logistics manager roles in Maryland?
The H-1B is the most common visa for logistics managers in Maryland, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a closely related field. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management categories. L-1A is another route for managers transferring from a foreign affiliate or parent company into a Maryland-based operation.
How to find logistics manager visa sponsorship jobs in Maryland?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by role and state to surface logistics manager positions in Maryland where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. Because sponsorship-open roles are rarely labeled clearly on general job boards, using Migrate Mate's filtered results saves significant time and helps you focus applications on employers already open to international candidates.
Which cities in Maryland have the most logistics manager sponsorship jobs?
Baltimore leads for logistics manager hiring, driven by the Port of Baltimore, major distribution centers, and a concentration of freight and warehousing operations. The suburban Washington corridor, including Gaithersburg, Rockville, and Bethesda, is a secondary hub where federal contractors and defense logistics firms post management roles. Annapolis and Frederick also see periodic openings tied to regional distribution and government supply chain work.
Are there any Maryland-specific considerations for logistics manager visa sponsorship?
Maryland's proximity to federal agencies and defense contractors adds a layer of complexity: some logistics manager roles require security clearances, which can be difficult or impossible for foreign nationals to obtain, effectively limiting sponsorship to non-classified positions. The Port of Baltimore also creates demand for supply chain managers with international freight experience, and employers in that sector tend to value candidates with documented expertise in customs compliance and global carrier management.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored logistics manager jobs in Maryland?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
