Which companies sponsor visas for accounting managers in Massachusetts?
Financial services giants State Street, Fidelity Investments, and Liberty Mutual are among the larger Massachusetts employers with documented histories of sponsoring work visas for accounting and finance professionals. Major healthcare systems like Mass General Brigham and academic institutions like Harvard and MIT also sponsor accounting managers. Biotech firms concentrated along Route 128, including Biogen and Takeda, regularly hire senior finance talent with sponsorship.
Which visa types are most common for accounting manager roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for accounting managers in Massachusetts, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. Candidates already holding L-1A visas through multinational employers may also transfer to Massachusetts operations in a managerial capacity. Those with extraordinary ability in finance may qualify for the O-1A, though it requires substantial documentation of recognition.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most accounting manager sponsorship jobs?
Boston accounts for the largest concentration of accounting manager sponsorship opportunities in Massachusetts, driven by its financial services sector, major hospital networks, and corporate headquarters. Cambridge is a secondary hub, particularly within biotech and life sciences. Worcester and Springfield have more limited but present demand, primarily within healthcare systems and regional manufacturers. Waltham and Burlington along Route 128 also host a meaningful number of corporate finance roles.
How to find accounting manager visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters accounting manager roles in Massachusetts by employers willing to sponsor work visas, saving significant time compared to manually vetting postings. You can browse current openings by role and state, see which companies have active sponsorship history, and focus your applications on employers who have a documented track record of petitioning for accounting and finance professionals in Massachusetts.
Are there state-specific considerations for accounting managers seeking sponsorship in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts prevailing wage determinations for accounting manager roles are set by the Department of Labor and reflect Greater Boston's high cost of living, meaning sponsored positions typically carry competitive compensation benchmarks that employers must meet. The state's strong university pipeline, particularly from Boston University, Northeastern, and Bentley University, means employers are accustomed to international candidates. Accounting managers pursuing CPA licensure in Massachusetts should also confirm how their foreign credentials are evaluated by the Massachusetts Board of Public Accountancy.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting manager jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
