Which companies sponsor visas for accounting managers in Nebraska?
Omaha-based employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for finance and accounting roles include Union Pacific Railroad, Mutual of Omaha, and TD Ameritrade (now part of Charles Schwab). Large healthcare organizations such as Nebraska Medicine and CHI Health also sponsor accounting professionals. Agricultural and food processing companies headquartered in Nebraska round out the pool of active sponsors in this role category.
Which visa types are most common for accounting manager roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa for accounting managers in Nebraska, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with a Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA accountant category. Those with exceptional professional recognition may also explore the O-1A, though that pathway is less common for this role.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most accounting manager sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the large majority of accounting manager sponsorship opportunities in Nebraska, driven by its concentration of Fortune 500 companies, financial services firms, and major healthcare systems. Lincoln, as the state capital and home to the University of Nebraska system, generates demand through university administration, state agencies, and regional business headquarters. Smaller markets like Grand Island and Kearney offer occasional openings but with less frequency.
How to find accounting manager visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate filters accounting manager job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search Nebraska without sorting through roles that don't support international candidates. The platform is designed for this use case, making it more efficient than general job searches. Focus your search on Omaha and Lincoln, and prioritize employers in financial services, healthcare, and agriculture, where Nebraska's sponsorship activity for accounting roles is most concentrated.
Are there state-specific considerations for accounting managers pursuing sponsorship in Nebraska?
Nebraska employers filing H-1B petitions for accounting managers must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the Omaha or Lincoln metropolitan areas, which are determined by the role's SOC code and experience level. The University of Nebraska system is a notable cap-exempt employer, meaning it can file H-1B petitions outside the annual lottery. Nebraska's relatively lower cost of doing business also means mid-sized regional employers are more likely to absorb sponsorship costs compared to high-cost metro markets.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting manager jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
