Which companies sponsor visas for business development representatives in Massachusetts?
Boston-area technology companies are the most active sponsors for business development representative roles. HubSpot, Drift, Klaviyo, Rapid7, and Recorded Future have histories of H-1B visa sponsorship for sales and revenue roles. Life sciences firms and enterprise software companies headquartered in Cambridge and the Seaport District also appear regularly in Department of Labor disclosure data for this role category.
Which visa types are most common for business development representative roles in Massachusetts?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business development representative positions in Massachusetts, but it requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, which means the employer must demonstrate a bachelor's degree in a specific field is a standard requirement for the position. Some candidates also enter through the TN visa (Canadian and Mexican nationals) or the O-1A for individuals with extraordinary achievement in business or sales leadership.
How to find business development representative visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is the most targeted way to find business development representative roles in Massachusetts where employers are open to visa sponsorship. Rather than sorting through thousands of general listings, Migrate Mate filters specifically for sponsoring employers in this role category, saving significant time for candidates on OPT, H-1B cap-gap, or other time-sensitive work authorization.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most business development representative sponsorship jobs?
Boston and Cambridge account for the large majority of business development representative openings with sponsorship potential in Massachusetts. The Seaport District and Kendall Square are particularly concentrated with technology and biotech companies that hire internationally. Waltham and Burlington, along Route 128, also host a significant number of enterprise software firms that actively recruit for early-stage sales roles.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for business development representatives seeking visa sponsorship?
Massachusetts has a high concentration of universities including MIT, Harvard, Boston University, and Northeastern, which creates a strong pipeline of international graduates on OPT seeking to transition into business development roles. Employers in the state are generally experienced with H-1B sponsorship due to the competitive local talent market. The specialty occupation standard remains a key threshold, and roles framed around CRM, SaaS sales strategy, or market research tend to have stronger sponsorship cases than purely transactional sales positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development representative jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
