Which companies sponsor visas for business development representatives in Oregon?
Portland-based technology and software companies are the most active sponsors for business development representative roles in Oregon. Firms operating in the B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure sectors, including companies headquartered in the Portland metro and Hillsboro tech corridor, regularly file Labor Condition Applications for sales-adjacent roles. Intel and Nike, both with significant Oregon operations, also sponsor for business development positions, though their hiring is more selective and varies by department.
Which visa types are most common for business development representative roles in Oregon?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for business development representative positions in Oregon, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, marketing, or communications, meeting the specialty occupation standard. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals for qualifying management or business analyst roles. Australian nationals may qualify for the E-3 visa. Each category requires employer sponsorship and a formal petition process.
Which cities in Oregon have the most business development representative sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the majority of business development representative sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of technology companies, startups, and regional offices of national firms. Hillsboro, home to Intel's largest U.S. campus, is a secondary hub with consistent hiring across technical sales and business development functions. Beaverton sees sponsorship activity tied to Nike and its surrounding supplier network. Eugene and Salem have limited but occasional opportunities, typically with larger regional employers.
How to find business development representative visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for visa sponsorship roles, including business development representative positions in Oregon. The platform filters jobs by sponsorship history and state, making it straightforward to identify Oregon employers who have previously sponsored work visas for BD roles. Searching by role and filtering to Oregon on Migrate Mate surfaces companies in the Portland and Hillsboro tech corridor that are actively hiring and have a documented sponsorship track record.
What should international candidates know about pursuing business development representative sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon follows federal prevailing wage requirements, meaning employers must pay H-1B holders at or above the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the role and geographic area. Portland's competitive tech job market means business development representative roles increasingly require demonstrated B2B sales experience or a relevant degree, which strengthens the specialty occupation argument for visa petitions. Oregon State University and University of Oregon produce graduates who sometimes transition into sponsored BD roles at Portland-area technology companies through existing employer recruitment pipelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development representative jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
