Which companies sponsor visas for food supervisors in Massachusetts?
Large healthcare systems like Mass General Brigham and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center sponsor food service supervisors through their hospital dining operations. University dining contractors such as Aramark and Sodexo, which hold contracts at Boston-area schools, also have documented sponsorship histories. Regional food manufacturers and hotel groups in Greater Boston round out the pool of active sponsors in this role category.
Which visa types are most common for food supervisor roles in Massachusetts?
The EB-3 immigrant visa is the most common pathway for food supervisors in Massachusetts, covering skilled workers in roles that meet Department of Labor prevailing wage and PERM requirements. The H-2B visa temporary nonagricultural worker visa appears in seasonal food service settings. Some supervisors in specialized production environments may qualify for H-1B sponsorship if the role requires a relevant bachelor's degree.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most food supervisor sponsorship jobs?
Boston concentrates the most opportunities, driven by its dense hospital network, hotel industry, and large university dining programs. Worcester supports food manufacturing and healthcare dining sponsorships. Cambridge and Somerville add openings through their restaurant groups and biotech campus dining operations. Springfield and Lowell contribute additional volume through food processing facilities and regional hospital systems in the western and northern parts of the state.
How to find food supervisor visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and lets you filter food supervisor roles by state, so Massachusetts openings are easy to surface. Unlike general job boards, Migrate Mate focuses on employers with active sponsorship histories, which is particularly useful in food service where sponsorship willingness varies significantly by employer size and operation type across Massachusetts.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for food supervisor sponsorship candidates?
Massachusetts has a higher cost of living than most states, which influences the prevailing wage determinations the Department of Labor sets for food supervisor PERM applications filed here. Employers in the state are also subject to Massachusetts wage and hour law, which is stricter than federal minimums. Candidates with credentials from culinary or food science programs at institutions like Johnson and Wales or UMass Amherst may find their qualifications align well with local employer expectations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored food supervisor jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
